Manuscript Editing.  For standard manuscript editing, we will provide content editing, substantive editing, grammatical, proofreading, consulting services concerning syntax, plot structure and other mechanical aspects of a manuscript along with a critical analysis and consultation via telephone or emphasizing content revision and reorganization to bring a manuscript to it’s potential for publication. The services of an editor can make the difference between a mediocre and a first-rate manuscript, thus developmental or substantive editing can be expensive. But if you'd prefer that we focus only on specific aspects of your manuscript, we can work out special arrangements. We can also edit your book in stages if this would better fit your needs and your budget.

Editing rates vary with the type of editing and the complexity of the project; contact us for an estimate. (Our rates begin at $150 for the first 25 pages of manuscript and $5 per page for each page thereafter, unless we've made an arrangement to work only on specific aspects of your manuscript)

Query Letters.  We will customize a standard query letter for your submission for a flat rate of $50.

Synopsis, poems, articles, ghost writing, freelance work, legal transcription, and custom projects will vary in price depending on the complexity of the project.  Please contact us for an estimate.

We will return the completed work to you by whatever means you prefer; we will include any postage costs in your contract.  

Turnaround Time

We schedule projects in the order in which we receive them but we can accommodate rush jobs for a slightly higher fee. Manuscript overviews can be returned between two to three weeks depending on the length. Typical turnaround times for full manuscript edits are usually done within four to six weeks. The time frame varies for extensive editing, proofing and rewrites.

In general, Eve’s Literary Services will meet your deadline. Turnaround times will be tailored to the needs of the author.

Payments

Payments for services rendered will be expected in at least two payments.  The first half will consist of at least half of the total balance up front and prior to services being rendered.  The final payment is due at the time of the final consultation, (before we return the manuscript to you).  We accept payment by certified check, money order or cashier’s check only.  Credit card payments are not available at this time.  All fees are contracted before work begins and there are no hidden charges.
