Lorraine Elzia
Editor, Author, Literary Artist
Lorraine Elzia is a native of Detroit, Michigan, who has espoused the name "A Deeva", and often writes under that pseudonym. She has always had an admiration for both the spoken and written word. That love affair, coupled with an addictive need to express herself, gave birth to a compulsion to write, which is a gift she is constantly nurturing. Lorraine attended Austin Community College, Hawaii Pacific College, and Central Texas University before launching her editorial/paralegal career and settling in Austin, Texas where she now calls home. Lorraine’s poem, “I am a Woman” was a Letstalkhonestly.com contest winner, and she has short stories published in Chicken Soup for the Single Parent’s Soul, Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul and the Katrina Anthology, Surfacing...Phenomenal Women on Passion, Politics & Purpose, www.katrinaanthology.com. Lorraine is Co-Owner of Eve’s Literary Services with Sharon Gray, a contributing Editor of Gumbo for the Soul, and she Co-Moderates Essentially Women, a writing group for African American women. She currently is working on the completion of her first novel, tentatively entitled Mistress Memoirs.
